Susan supports a 'S.I.M.B.Y' attitude: START IN MY BACK YARD promoting:
 
1. A CONSCIENTIOUS USE OF TAX DOLLARS: Less frivolous spending, more accountability. Looking out for the citizen’s money, remembering politicians work for the people, not the other way around.

2. IMPROVING TRANSPORTATION: Broaden public transit, reducing north south congestion, reprioritizing existing road maintenance.

3. JOB CREATION: Encourage new manufacturing jobs in our area, such as high tech and green manufacturing. Also work to ensure the existing manufacturing stays viable in our city. As well as promote the benefits of our city to R & D industries.

4. ENCOURAGE EFFECTIVE WATER MANAGEMENT: Susan will fight to make sure neighbourhoods have high quality water and sewer systems now and for the future. Decrease the gap between supply and demand.

5. PROTECT AND ENHANCE PARKS AND NATURAL AREAS: Preserve the standard of living by protecting valued parks and natural areas.

6. BETTER LAND USE PRACTICES INCLUDING RE-URBANIZATION: Encourage responsibly planned neighbourhoods. Use a "Smart" growth approach to sustainable development.

7. COMMUNITY AND DOWNTOWN IMPROVEMENTS: Encourage more pedestrian traffic, form stronger community ties, promote neighbourhood associations, as well as beautification improvements throughout.
